Spring:
Spring is a beautiful time to visit Rutherglen. The town and its surroundings are adorned with colorful blooming flowers and you can feel the gentle Spring breeze. The Rutherglen Wine Show is held annually in October, giving you an opportunity to taste Rutherglen's award-winning wines. The festival includes tastings, workshops, and even wine auctions. If you prefer something more active, you can join the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail Marathon, which passes through Rutherglen's scenic countryside.

Summer:
Summer in Rutherglen is hot, perfect weather for an outdoor event. The Rutherglen New Year's Eve Street Party is a highly anticipated event, with market stalls, food trucks, live music, and fireworks. Another exciting festival is the Winery Walkabout held in June, which allows visitors to sample wines from over 20 wineries. Live music, food, and entertainment are also a part of the weekend-long celebration.

Autumn:
Autumn is a great time to explore Rutherglen's charming rural scenery and natural beauty. The town hosts the Tastes of Rutherglen event in March, where you can taste locally produced food, wine, and craft beer. It is a perfect time to wander through the town, shop, and enjoy the beautiful Autumn scenery. Country drives are also a great idea in this season and Rutherglen's surroundings are home to many gorgeous trails to explore.

Winter:
Winter in Rutherglen brings cooler temperatures and its own charm. The Winter Farmers Market, held on the fourth Sunday of each month from May to September, is a perfect opportunity to explore locally produced produce, preserves, and products from regional artisans. You can also taste the local Rutherglen fortified wine, which is aged in barrels for over a decade. Another festival not to be missed is the Rutherglen Chocolate and Wine festival in July, where you can indulge in delicious chocolate and wine pairings.

In addition to these seasonal events, there are plenty of year-round activities in Rutherglen. From cycling and hiking the various trails, visiting museums and galleries, to taking part in various workshops and classes, there is always something fun to do. You can also visit the beautiful Lake Moodemere Vineyards and taste their award-winning wines or visit the Rutherglen Brewery for a locally brewed beer.
